The Dignity of Black Lives: A Catholic Response to the Sin of Racism
The killing of George Floyd by a white law enforcement officer has reawakened a national and international outcry regarding a disregard for Black Lives. Within the Church, this has sparked a number of responses from the United States Bishops, various local churches, and national Catholic organizations. However, there are many questions about the appropriate response of the Church outside that of statements in times of crisis. This conversation between Fr. Frank and Deacon (now Father) Ajani Gibson will explore the reality of racism in the Church and the necessary place of the Church in the fight against racism.

Center Director Fr. Frank Donio S.A.C., was invited to speak on the Our Changing World Inc. - Advancing our Church Podcast with Jim Friend. In the podcast, Jim and Fr. Frank discuss the life-giving mission of the Catholic Apostolate Center and how they have adapted and enhanced their ministry through the pandemic. Fr. Frank also shares the joys and opportunities of the religious life for the Conference of the Major Superiors of Men (CMSM) and closes with some thoughts on the upcoming season of Lent.

Center Director Fr. Frank Donio, S.A.C. spoke at an online conference organized by the St. Vincent Pallotti Institute in Rome. Fr. Frank's presentation was titled: “Mary, Queen of the Apostles, Missionary Disciple” and discussed how the Queen of Apostles helps us to recognize more fully and fruitfully the way that we are sent forth by Christ the King as sharers in his mission, in and through the Church, until he comes again. The meeting was attended by over 80 people from all around the world and the presentation was translated into five languages.
